Framework agreement for engineering and architectural services related to the design of maintenance works of works of art

As part of the road infrastructure rehabilitation project of the Province of Pisa, Breng oversaw the design of the local rehabilitation of the structures of the bridge over the Arno River, located at km 0+380 of SP1, in La Botte. The bridge forms a link between the municipalities of Vicopisano and Calcinaia. The structure, made entirely of reinforced concrete, has three spans, each consisting of three arches connected transversely by stringers. Each arch is connected to the next by means of buffer beams with Gerber saddles, which rest on corbelled beams projecting from the arches themselves. The deck has a symmetrical configuration with respect to both the longitudinal axis and the transverse axis passing through the centerline of the central arch (arch 2). The Gerber beam assemblies, arranged in parallel, consist of three elements with variable cross-sections in height and width. As a result of the inspection activities and investigations conducted, integrated with the results of the safety assessment, a design of local interventions aimed at the structural consolidation of the deck was defined, in order to safely ensure the transit of loads in accordance with NTC2018, as well as the restoration of degraded situations found in the substructures. The intervention also included the construction of a new bicycle and pedestrian path by widening the existing sidewalks, ensuring a useful width of 160.5 cm.
