Static and seismic rehabilitation of viaducts of ‘Autostrada dei Parchi’

The project involves the static and seismic upgrading of various viaducts along the A25 Highway, Autostrada dei Parchi. In general, the project foresees the replacement of the existing decks with steel-concrete decks with a lightweight concrete slab, and the reinforcement of the piers following the installation of new metallic pier cap. The viaducts, located in one of the most seismically active areas of Italy, are seismically protected through the use of inverted pendulum bearings, even for earthquakes with a return period of 2500 years.
